National Bioenergy Day, held during National Forest Products Week, highlights the many benefits of the bioenergy industry. In recognition, join us on this day at Albany Green Energy (AGE) for an Open House. The 52-megawatt AGE utilizes woody biomass from mill residue, forestry waste, recycling and agricultural waste to generate steam and power. The facility has a power purchase agreement to supply electricity to Georgia Power and has two long-term agreements to supply steam to nearby entities – one to Procter & Gamble and the other to Constellation New Energy, which is used to generate electricity for the nearby Marine Corps Logistics Base. AGE is a catalyst for sustainable economic growth in southwest Georgia and beyond, serving as an important end-market for residue from logging companies and mills and supporting hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.
